What are the 7 D's of Building Information Modelling?

The 7D's of BIM are:

  1. Design: This refers to the design phase of a project, during which the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) professionals develop the plans and specifications for a project.

  2. Durability: This refers to the expected lifespan of a building or structure, and how well it will hold up to the elements and wear and tear over time.

  3. Demolition: This refers to the process of deconstructing or tearing down a building or structure.

  4. Delivery: This refers to the process of bringing materials, equipment, and other resources to a construction site, and coordinating their use in the construction process.

  5. Documentation: This refers to the process of creating and maintaining records and documents related to a construction project, including plans, specifications, and as-built drawings.

  6. Data: This refers to the information and data generated during the design, construction, and operation of a building or structure, and how it is managed and shared among different stakeholders.

  7. Disposal: This refers to the process of disposing of materials, equipment, and other resources that are no longer needed or have reached the end of their useful life
